Tinariwen are musicians of the Touareg people of Western Sahara. It is easy to find the roots of much of contemporary American music, that gumbo stew which traces so much to western Africa, in Tinariwen's sound. I was fascinated with this band in 2013 and it was wonderful to find them again. I find this song deeply spiritual and moving. The slinky, syncopated rhythms curl up around my soul. Tinariwen are soul rebels.
